Hands on electron microscopy training at one of Europe’s leading research institutes
The EMHOC 2nd Edition – Electron Microscopy Hands On Course is an advanced EMBO supported training course taking place at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn in Naples, Italy.
Designed for experienced researchers, this intensive course combines theoretical foundations with practical, hands on training in modern electron microscopy workflows.
Participants will gain direct exposure to state of the art electron microscopy techniques, with a strong focus on sample preparation and correlative workflows bridging light and electron microscopy (CLEM). The course is delivered by expert instructors in a highly interactive setting, enabling participants to deepen both their conceptual understanding and practical skills.
With a limited number of participants, EMHOC offers an ideal environment for in depth learning, discussion, and exchange with peers and experts from academia and research institutions.
Why You Should Attend
This course is ideal if you want to:
- Strengthen your practical EM expertise through hands on sessions using advanced instrumentation
- Understand end to end workflows connecting light microscopy and electron microscopy
- Improve sample quality and reproducibility, including approaches such as high pressure freezing
- Learn from leading experts in electron microscopy in a focused, small group setting
- Network with peers, facility leaders, and advanced researchers from international research institutions
The EMHOC course is particularly relevant for core facility staff, advanced PhD students, postdocs, and researchers who already work with EM techniques and want to expand or refine their methodological skill set.
