Judith Reddington

Judith Reddington (Reichmann) pursued a bachelor’s degree in applied biology at the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in Germany and a bachelor of honors in genetics at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In 2007 Judith moved to Edinburgh where she studied the development of oocyte and sperm cells, at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine, during her PhD degree. She came to EMBL as a postdoctoral fellow in 2012 to quantitatively investigate cell division at the beginning of life using light-sheet microscopy techniques and advanced image analysis tools. For her work focusing on high-resolution live imaging of the first cell division in mammalian embryos Judith was awarded the 2020 Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize for Young Researchers. In November 2020 Judith joined Leica Microsystems as a product manager for confocal and light-sheet microscopy.
