Dr. Tadahiro Hashita is a assistant professor at Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagoya City University. He developed a method to differentiate human iPS cells into brain microvascular endothelial cells. Recently, he has been developing a microphysiological system of blood-brain barrier (BBB) and disease-mimicking BBB models constructed from patient-derived iPS cells, such as Parkinson’s disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
